Description
SURECEM is a cement that is ideal for general building operations, and the manufacture of cement-based products. SURECEM is a cement made at the PPC Bulawayo factory from high quality raw materials. Clinker being inter-ground with Gypsum and an appropriate amount of extender.
Applications
SURECEM is a general purpose cement. Typical applications are concrete, mortar, plaster, masonry products, paving, precast products, grouts, shotcrete, soil stabilisation. SURECEM is a tried and tested product that has been engineered to achieve a consistent and appropriate performance. SURECEM has been optimised for a broad range of applications, whilst maintaining the appropriate levels of quality. SURECEM is compatible with commercial chemical admixtures.
Specification
SURECEM is a cement designed to meet the 32,5 strength class of SABS EN 197-1 & SAZS EN 197 for Common Cements and is identified as:
- Cement SANS 50197 – 1/SABS EN 197
- Cement SAZS EN 197 CEM II/B-L 32.5
Where “L” represents Limestone and “B” exceeds 20% extender.

Storage
Bulk storage silos should be inspected on a regular basis to ensure that the inspection hatch seal is watertight and filters are clean and unblocked. Cement bags are not waterproof and should be stored under cover, off the ground to a maximum height of 12 bags.

SURECEM is available from the Bulawayo Sales Office and various retail outlets.
Packaging
Bags – 50 kg Polypropylene bags
- Unitised 40 bags (2 tons) per unit
- Unitised on a pallet 40 bags (2 tons) per unit
- Unitised on a pallet and covered with plastic hood. 40 bags (2 tons) per unit.
(Please note the hood is shower-proof NOT waterproof)
Bulk
- Bulk cement in road or rail tankers is not recommended as the high transportation cost does not make this viable
